The Journey Begins
Art has always fascinated me. In all its realms. Painting, dancing, acting, sculpting. The ability to create something out of nothing - and in the end that nothing has the capacity to move people's souls. A painting, a song, a duet - an expression of one person, evoking emotion within others.
I have not yet personally discovered my form of artistic expression - and have therefore always had the dream to expose others and their talents. Hence this journey. Hence Art of Africa. Delving into the world of African art has been such an adventure - to meet and experience the inner circles of what makes our artists tick. There are so many talented artists. So much passion. So much variety and insight and inspiration. And then some.
To be allowed a peek at our world through the eyes of an artist is like receiving a gift of understanding - in some small way - of what lies beneath a work of art - and how they connect with their surroundings to help others see it so. To interact with ones environment in such a way brings out such truth - whether it be disturbance or beauty. I watch with enviable eyes and a grateful heart.
